Cat Cafe

Talk about a Niche Market. A shop in Sudbury, Ontario is home to Canada's first "Cat Cafe" where customers can cozy up with a kitty while sipping a drink. Cat cafe's are held on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5. All the info is on their site here.

GioCat in Korea has a coffee shop full of cats, this video shows you how it works... there are rules after-all. Don't Squash the Kitty!

How to: Entertain Bored Kids

Box & Car Rally.
Affix christmas paper tubes or paper towel tubes into an empty cardboard box, add Rally cars and Viola! A Plinko-Style car game to keep the kids interested and out of your hair.
Spy-Ninja Training.
All you'll need is some masking tape, a hallway and your imagination. Create an obstacle course like the one pictured here and see who can get through to the other side to reach the "treasure". Easy to do, easy to clean up and the course can be changed again and again... so long as you don't run out of tape.

DIY - Kids Play Kitchen

Ugly outdated entertainment stand no more! This kids play kitchen is GORGEOUS!
The perfect kitchen to bake cupcakes in.

How to:
Find yourself an entertainment stand (this should be easy, hit up a second hand store or local garage sale)
Paint it with a good layer of primer before jazzing it up with the pink.
Cut out the areas for the sink and elements on the stove. (You could paint on the elements instead of installing real ones.)
Glue some knobs on the front of your stove, and install the faucet.

A cute chandelier and curtains around a faux window scene finish off this adorable kitchen.

Form and Design per Enzo Mari

"Form is what is there - not what seems to be there; therefore, we must speak in terms of the work that brings it to being" - Enzo Mari

One of the most thoughtful and intellectually provocative Italian designers of the late 20th century, ENZO MARI (1932-) has proved as influential to younger generations of designers as to his peers as a writer, teacher, artist and designer of products, furniture and puzzle games.

"The original power of design to create a utopia must be recovered. If this is the allegory of the potential transformation, the message must reach as many as possible"
