Lego - The Architecture Edition
For those who never made it through the rigors of architecture school, now there's an opportunity. For those who love plastic blocks, now there's more than a castle to build. The only problem with Falling Water, however, is the roof leaks. And watch out not to build Burj Khalifa too high, it has a tendency to lean and fall down.

Jacques Fresco - Futurist Designer
His work is a revelation and fascination; it stems from Bucky Fuller's futurism and seems to have influenced many contemporary architectural projects. But see for yourself, the 2006 film, Future by Design by William Gazecki is a documentary about Fresco's life and output. (get DVD here; trailer here and here )
Anyone who loves vintage World's Fair futurism, as I do, Utopian conceptualizing and optimistic urban planning will enjoy Fresco's work and outlook.
He is a self-educated structural designer, industrial designer, philosopher of science, concept artist, educator, and futurist, with focus on philosophy, science, and engineering.
The Venus Project presents a bold, new direction for humanity that entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture. There are many people today who are concerned with the serious problems that face our modern society: unemployment, violent crime, replacement of humans by technology, over-population and a decline in the Earth's ecosystems.

Creating value with Brand Identity
Good Design is Good Business says Tom Watson, former chairman of IBM.
Creating value is the indisputable goal of most organizations. The best companies consistently demonstrate their value through the superior quality of their products and services and their unswerving dedication to meeting their customers needs, the best Brand Identities are the most public and widely communicated symbols of that value.
When the Brand Identity is viewed as an important asset to the company by senior management it has the ability to actively build trust and promote awareness. It is a competitive advantage and has the ability to position the company above the crowd.
This Identity is a symbol of the corporate culture and engenders pride. It extends customer loyalty through familiarity and paired with an effective Brand Strategy has the ability to build synergies across business lines.

"I am irresistible, I say, as I put on my designer fragrance. I am a merchant banker, I say, as I climb out of my BMW. I am a juvenile lout, I say, as I pour an extra strong lager, I am handsome, I say, as I put on my Levi jeans" -John Kay

DIY - Dresser ReVamp
Once you've picked your wallpaper you can begin your dresser makeover. Rejuvenate the drawer fronts of this tired dresser with Floral wallpaper and a corresponding layer or two of paint.
To cover the Lamp, just cut paper slightly larger than the shade, adhere, pressing firmly to smooth wrinkles. Once dry, slice off the excess paper with a craft knife.
Use the same technique to cover artist's canvasses with coordinating papers for instant art!!!
Its a pretty easy peasy dresser makeover. For an "all paint" dresser revamp project go here.
